Vinous

Vinous

92

(all grand cru Bouzy, all pinot noir) Bright gold. Expansive, floral-dominated bouquet of pear nectar and pear skin, marzipan, lemon curd and dried flowers. Rich but lively, offering sappy orchard fruit flavors and deeper notes of fruit pit and redcurrant. The floral quality comes back on the very long, gently smoky, herb-laced finish. This is lovely right now. I also retasted the 2000 Brut from Bara and it is very good right now, offering pliant, smoky orange and redcurrant flavors and a seamless texture. There's no rush to pop the cork but it seems to have entered a sound drinking plateau.
