The 2019 Saint-Aubin La Charmois 1er Cru is a step up in quality on the nose compared to domaine’s Village Crus. There is fine delineation and real terroir expression here. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, very harmonious with nectarine and stem ginger notes, quite taut on the finish but reassuringly persistent on the aftertaste. It deserves 2-3 years in the cellar. Good potential.
