The 2017 Chassagne-Montrachet Vieilles Vignes will be the last produced since the vines are young. The domaine replanted En Jononblot, close to Criots-Bâtard-Montrachet, that up until now has been blended into the Vieilles Vignes. From next year they will produce single vineyard cuvées instead of the Vieilles Vignes. It has a slight tinniness on the nose that gradually dissipates with time in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with fine, quite sturdy tannin. The acidity is nicely judged here with layers of black fruit towards the smooth finish that is rounded out by the 15% new oak. Good potential.
